Getting a job is not easy at the best of times, the task can be more difficult if you’re long-term unemployed. The issue can often come down to a lack of relevant, recent work experience, a problem made more difficult by companies’ unwilling to take a chance and offer the opportunity to gain the experience.
This pre-employment course is aimed at people wishing to improve their general employment prospects. The course allows you to gain an accredited qualification as well valuable work experience in a variety of occupational areas. Whether you are brilliant at talking to customers in a sales environment or you want to get stuck in within our warehouse department, CLiC has something to suit you.
Who is the course for?
The course is for learners from pre-16 and upwards who wish help and support in considering and making decisions about their future career and education opportunities.
The qualification is also relevant to learners within prison rehabilitation programs who are preparing to make future career choices to support the prevention of reoffending.
What’s on the course?
The course covers 3 main areas including:
• Making Informed Career Choices
• Exploring Occupational Areas
• Participate in an Occupational Taster
You will get the chance to meet with an employment mentor or get advice from a National Careers Service advisor.
How long does it take to complete?
The course involves 3 classroom sessions and lot of practical work experience and exercises.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal or specific entry requirements; however you are expected to have a basic understanding of written and spoken English skills.
What award will I achieve?
You will receive an accredited ‘OCF Open Awards in Making Informed Career Choices (Entry Level 3)’ on completion.
How much will the course cost?
There is no fee for this course.
