The Open Awards Recycling and Waste qualification address the Government agenda with regard to waste and recycling and the emission of greenhouse gases and aims to support the sector need to attract new recruits. Basic and essential skills, including health and safety awareness and employability skills are included giving clear benefits for both employers and employees.
Who is the course for?
The course is for anyone who is either going to handling waste and recycling material in the workplace or with the management of it. This qualification is appropriate for learners aged 14+.
What’s on the course?
The course will cover 4 main areas including:
• Know how to accept and collect waste and recyclable materials
• How to remove and dispose of waste
• Know how to work safely
• Know how to operate waste and recycling equipment and vehicles safely
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements; however you are expected to have a basic understanding of written and spoken English skills.
What award will I achieve?
You will receive an accredited ‘Open Awards Level 1 Award in Waste and Recycling (QCF)’ on completion.
How much will the course cost?
There is no fee for this course to anyone over the age of 19.
