Covid-19 Corona Virus Crisis - we are trying to do our bit
During the crisis we have:
Closed our four shops in accordance with the lockdown law in March - we are now slowly re-opening from June
Provided minibus services for single users (some able bodied, some with restricted mobility) who have no other way to get to/from a food shop
Arranged regular telephone (and computer) support for over one hundred socially isolated individuals
Provided and delivered furniture and white goods to a group of long-term homeless people who have been given emergency housing
Provided and delivered furniture and white goods to several hundred people that three Local Authority Social Services departments have deemed a priority
Set up the Cheshire Food Hub, In partnership with The Welcome Network and Cheshire West and Chester Council, to help tackle food poverty by:
Using some of our warehouse space, vehicles and drivers available for the delivery of food packages
Redistributing surplus food to community groups
Providing a food boxes to families to help those community groups who cannot offer their usual face-to-face summer school holiday lunch services.
