What's happening in Warrington?

October 26, 2017

Since we opened our bigger Changing Lives in Warrington outlet in April this year at the Cockhedge Centre we've attracted all ages of the community to come along and find out more about us.  The shop now hosts a Repair Café and our partners The Craft Room, The Sewing Room and Vintage with Grace (upcycling of furniture) all offer initial engagement ‘taster’ sessions in crafts, repair or upcycling for anyone interested in having a go at something new.

The new Repair Café project at Warrington is particularly aimed at older people, those aged 50+, to allow them to utilise existing skills, learn new skills or pass on their skills to others whilst contributing to their community by repairing small items of furniture or household goods. The project was launched with an event in September and 96 people attended. From this, three new lovely volunteers, all aged 50+, approached us to donate their time and skills. We really value their input and the fact that they are transferring their skills to a new generation of people who care about protecting our environment by reusing and recycling unwanted items.
