Tesco are grateful for the great work that you have been doing, feeding people in your community with the surplus food you receive from your local Tesco store.
Thanks to the hard work of cooks such as yourselves, we have been able to turn more than 30 million meals-worth of surplus food into dishes for people in our communities across the UK.
But we know that cooking the surplus food from Tesco can sometimes prove a challenge for even the most experienced chef. Whether it is never knowing what might be donated on any given day, being confronted with an unfamiliar ingredient, or working out what to do with a bumper donation of seasonal fruit and veg, there are plenty of challenges to cope with.
We want to help you with those challenges, so that even more surplus food can be put to good use, feeding people who really benefit from it.
That’s why our top development chefs have teamed up with Jamie Oliver to create the Tesco Community Cookery School, an exciting next step in Tesco’s campaign to cut food waste.
We want to help 1,000 community cooks from across the country, using the expertise of our specialists to help provide solutions to some of the unique problems posed by cooking with surplus food donations.
In thanks for all your work in feeding people in your community, we would like you to be one of those 1,000, and are offering you the opportunity to attend our Tesco Community Cookery School – a one day course at our Heart building in Welwyn Garden City (Shire Park, Kestrel Way, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, AL7 1GA).
Not only will you receive a day of specially-developed training using a syllabus created by Jamie Oliver and Tesco’s development chefs, we will also cover the cost of your travel expenses to attend so that the charity or community group you work with doesn’t lose out.
Angie, Gwen and Nathan, have a FABULOUS time!
